Sinless Criminal
George Manning, an innocent man, had spent five years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. The sheriff had framed him for bank robbery because George refused to leave his girlfriend for the sheriff’s own desires. While in prison, George befriended one of the actual robbers, who shared the location of the looted money and jewels with him.
“How will I get close to it?” George wondered. He returned home, hatched a plan, and used his old laptop to search for the latitude and longitude of the loot. The location was tantalizingly close to the Power Plant’s perimeter.
George conducted a night survey of the area behind the fence for a week, observing the guards’ movements and noting the absence of any dangerous animals. But on the last night of his survey, he returned home to find his laptop on and his room ransacked.
“Someone is watching me?” George muttered, his mind racing. He replayed his moves, remembering a burning cigarette butt he had seen on the fourth day of his survey. “Yes!” he exclaimed, alarmed. Someone had indeed been following him.
George decided to lay low and put his plan to buy digging equipment on hold. He needed to be sure he wasn’t being monitored. For now, the loot would have to wait. But George’s patience was wearing thin. He was determined to uncover the truth and claim what was rightfully his.
The question was, who was watching him, and what did they want? George’s instincts told him that his sinless past was about to become a thing of the past. The game was on, and George was ready to play. But would he emerge victorious, or would the stakes prove too high? Only time would tell.
